We were honored to present the Human Centric Preference based Optimization (HCPbO) project at the prestigious Gaia-X Summit 2024 in Helsinki. The event brought together innovators, industry leaders, and policy-makers to discuss the future of digital transformation and data-driven solutions across Europe.

The HCPbO project tackles the complex challenges of optimizing industrial processes through preference-based optimization algorithms. This innovative approach leverages the knowledge of expert operators, enabling them to intuitively transfer their expertise to machines without programming. The system suggests optimization strategies based on experiments conducted by operators, while its enhanced algorithms will combine both qualitative and quantitative data for even greater flexibility and performance.

The project is being tested through two practical use cases:

  • Industrial Computed Tomography (CT) in collaboration with TEC Eurolab,
  • Hybrid 3D polymer printing with SmartZavod.

Our consortium brings together leading partners:

  • Reply,
  • TEC Eurolab,
  • SmartZavod,
  • University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI),
  • Industry Innovation Cluster.

Co-funded by the European Union, HCPbO is advancing the frontiers of industrial optimization by integrating human expertise and AI.

We are grateful to Gaia-X for the opportunity to showcase our work at the Helsinki Summit, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration in building a human-centric, data-driven future.
