On 2 April 2026, the consortium partners of the EASTGATEH2V project gathered in Košice, Slovakia, for a project meeting attended by representatives of partner organizations from several European countries. The meeting focused on reviewing the project’s progress to date, coordinating upcoming activities, and planning the next steps toward the successful implementation of the first Hydrogen Valley in Slovakia.
During the meeting, partners discussed the current status of the individual work packages, the achievement of key milestones, and the coordination of technical, organizational, and communication activities. Particular attention was given to strengthening cooperation among consortium members, exchanging knowledge and best practices, and identifying new opportunities for collaboration between research institutions, industry stakeholders, and public authorities involved in the project.
Participants also addressed the future direction of the project and agreed on the framework for effective project management during the next implementation phase. Discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining close cooperation among all partners to ensure the timely delivery of project objectives and maximize the long-term impact of the initiative.
The EASTGATEH2V project brings together 22 organizations from seven European countries with the shared goal of creating a fully integrated hydrogen ecosystem covering renewable hydrogen production, distribution infrastructure, and end-use applications in transport, industry, and energy sectors. A key aspect of the project is the promotion of cross-border cooperation and the development of future hydrogen infrastructure across the Central European region.
Representatives of the Industry Innovation Cluster (IIC) presented their ongoing activities related to innovation support, international cooperation, stakeholder engagement, and the dissemination of project results. The consortium also discussed upcoming communication and outreach activities aimed at increasing awareness of hydrogen technologies and their role in supporting the decarbonization of industry, transport, and energy systems.
The consortium meeting confirmed the strong commitment of all partners to continue their close collaboration and jointly deliver the ambitious objectives of the project. EASTGATEH2V remains an important step toward the development of the hydrogen economy in Slovakia and the wider Central European region, contributing to energy security, technological innovation, and the achievement of European climate and sustainability goals.
The meeting concluded with a shared vision for the next stages of implementation and a renewed commitment to advancing the deployment of hydrogen technologies as a key pillar of Europe’s clean energy transition.
