Tech-X & Hackathon #9: Driving Innovation in the Gaia-X Ecosystem

The upcoming Tech-X & Hackathon #9 event promises to bring together some of the brightest minds in the Gaia-X community for two days of collaboration, innovation, and hands-on technical exchange. Taking place on 28–29 May 2026 in Athens, Greece, this event is set to become a key meeting point for developers, engineers, and innovators shaping the future of data spaces and digital ecosystems.  

Hosted at the ZEUS – Wyndham Grand Athens Hotel, the event offers not only state-of-the-art conference facilities but also a unique setting in the heart of Athens, with stunning views of the Acropolis—an inspiring backdrop for forward-thinking discussions and collaboration.  

A Platform for Collaboration and Innovation

Organised in collaboration with Gaia-X Hub Greece and the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems & Automation, Tech-X & Hackathon #9 will focus on practical implementation, real-world use cases, and technical advancements within the Gaia-X ecosystem.  

The programme is designed to balance knowledge sharing with active participation. Attendees can look forward to:

  • Main Stage featuring expert presentations and interactive sessions
  • hands-on Hackathon, where participants collaborate to solve real-world challenges
  • Opportunities to network, exchange ideas, and build solutions together

Hackathon: From Ideas to Impact

A central highlight of the event is the Hackathon, where innovation takes center stage. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Work on real Gaia-X challenges
  • Collaborate with international teams
  • Develop practical solutions within a short timeframe

Top-performing teams will be rewarded, with prizes of up to €5000, encouraging creativity, technical excellence, and impactful ideas.  

Call for Contributions

Tech-X also invites experts and practitioners to actively contribute by sharing their knowledge and experience. The event welcomes presentations focused on:

  • Gaia-X developments, including Gaia-X 3.0 “Danube”
  • Cross-ecosystem trust and interoperability
  • Data space technologies and connectors
  • Lessons learned from real-world implementations
