Europeana Project Month 2026: The Data Space in Practice – Tools, Impact and Synergies

The European data space for cultural heritage is continuing to evolve, bringing together innovative technologies, projects and communities to unlock the potential of Europe’s cultural heritage data. This November, the Europeana Foundation will host Europeana Project Month 2026, an online event series showcasing how the data space is being developed and applied in practice.

Following the success of the 2024 Europeana Project Week, the 2026 edition will bring together 14 EU-funded projects working across different areas of digital cultural heritage, data spaces, digital skills and cross-sector collaboration.

Discover innovative projects and practical solutions

Europeana Project Month 2026 will take place throughout November 2026, every Tuesday and Thursday, with online sessions designed to facilitate knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration.

The programme will highlight innovative developments and practical outcomes from projects working on topics including:

  • 3D digitisation and immersive technologies
  • Digital skills and community empowerment
  • The connection between the cultural heritage data space and the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH)
  • Data measurement and impact assessment
  • Cross-sector synergies and collaboration

Among the featured projects is DEPLOYTOUR, which focuses on the development of the Common European Tourism Data Space and strengthening the use and sharing of data within the tourism ecosystem. The project’s participation highlights the importance of collaboration between cultural heritage, tourism and data space initiatives.

An opportunity to connect, learn and collaborate

The event series is aimed at cultural heritage professionals, educators, researchers, innovators and other stakeholders interested in the digital transformation of the cultural heritage sector and the development of European data spaces.

Participants will have the opportunity to connect directly with project teams, discover innovative approaches and tools, exchange experiences and explore opportunities for future cooperation.

Each event day will feature two dedicated sessions:

Morning session – 09:30–12:00 CET

  • 09:30–10:00 – Welcome and informal networking
  • 10:00–12:00 – Project presentations

Afternoon session – 14:00–16:00 CET

The detailed programme, individual session topics and speaker information will be announced by the organisers.
