In August, we completed the DevelopData Exchange project as part of the European Interreg Danube Region Programme 2025

The DevelopDataExchange project, which focused on supporting the effective use of EU funds and strengthening cross-sectoral cooperation within the Danube region, was successfully implemented between October 2024 and August 2025. The aim was to overcome key barriers to the full use of European financial instruments and to create conditions for sustainable development in the region through cooperation between the public, private, and academic sectors.
Raising awareness of EU funding opportunities

Information campaigns, workshops, and consultations were carried out, contributing to increased awareness of programs such as Interreg, Horizon Europe, EIT, DEP, CEF, and others.

Identification and involvement of key stakeholders
The project successfully established cooperation with more than 50 organizations across sectors, including local governments, research institutions, businesses, and non-profit organizations.
Creation of consortia ready to submit project proposals
The project has created functional consortia that are ready to participate in calls for proposals under European programs.
Proposal of mechanisms to improve coordination and communication
Specific tools have been proposed to improve cross-sector communication, including a digital platform for sharing information and experiences.

Recommendations for the future

  • It would be beneficial to continue building these information corridors and projects.
  • Support long-term partnerships between sectors with the aim of creating new information corridors.
  • Create permanent structures for coordination and information sharing at the regional level.
  • Actively participate in European initiatives and calls with an emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and inclusion.
  • The project has laid the foundations for further development of the Danube region through the effective use of EU funds and enhanced cross-sectoral cooperation.
  • The results of the project represent an important step towards a more connected, competitive, and sustainable region as a whole.
